We are excited to announce our integration is nearly ready for claims submissions. Beginning at 5pm CST tomorrow (Wednesday, March 13th), the claims submission service will be enabled and we'll start to submit claims that have been waiting in queue. If you have claims you've submitted in Sessions Health during the outage, action may be required. Please take the following steps before 5pm CST tomorrow:

  • If you've submitted claims outside of Sessions Health, make sure you either cancel the claim in Sessions Health or mark as Submitted Externally
  • Confirm your enrollment with Claim.MD. Most payers do not require enrollment to submit claims, but some will. Please go to Billing Settings > Insurance > Payers and ensure there's a green check-mark next to Claims. If there's an Enroll button next to claims, click the button and follow the instructions to enroll. If you'd rather keep your connection with Change Healthcare, please contact us at support@sessionshealth.com
  • Although not required, we encourage you to also enroll in Remittance/ERAs at this time from your Billing Settings > Insurance > Payers page. Claim.MD will serve as the primary clearinghouse and will be fully supported going forward. As an added bonus, the enrollment process is expected to be much easier with Claim.MD compared to Change Healthcare.

We understand the importance of this update and are here to support you through this change. Should you encounter any issues or have questions regarding the enrollment process or any other concerns, please contact our support team at support@sessionshealth.com.

As part of our ongoing commitment to keep you informed and supported, we would like to share significant updates regarding the recent cyber attack on Change Healthcare and the proactive steps being taken to mitigate its impact on your operations.

Temporary Funding Program Launched

Understanding the financial strain this situation may have imposed, a Temporary Funding Program has been officially launched to aid providers during this challenging period. We encourage you to explore the program details available at www.optum.com/temporaryfunding.

Key Points to Note:

  • OptumPay Account Requirement: To participate in the Temporary Funding Program, providers will need to have an OptumPay account.

  • No Fees or Interest: The program is designed to offer financial support without the burden of fees or interest.

  • Repayment: Funds received under this program will need to be repaid from claims payments once services are fully restored.

  • Eligibility: Specific eligibility criteria apply, though the details have not been disclosed. It remains uncertain whether all our providers qualify for this program.

Comprehensive Update Page

For detailed information and continuous updates, Change Healthcare has established a thorough landing page. Please visit uhg.com/changehealthcarecyberresponse to stay informed on the latest developments.

Introduction of IEDI

In response to the cyber attack, efforts are underway to establish Change-only payers connection through an Optum EDI solution, referred to as "IEDI." This initiative is part of a broader strategy to offer an alternative to Change Healthcare's services, ensuring continued support for companies like Sessions Health. While no specific timeline has been provided, progress is being made towards the setup of IEDI, and Change Healthcare may be "getting close" to its implementation. We understand the importance of this development for your operations and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Our Alternative Solutions

Additionally, we want to highlight that our dedicated engineering team is actively working on creating alternative claims exports to further support our providers during this period of disruption. This initiative aims to provide an additional avenue for claims processing, ensuring that your operations can continue with minimal interruption. While we are fully committed to this project, please note that we currently do not have a definitive timeline for its completion or specific details on what it will support. Rest assured, our team is doing everything possible to expedite this process.

Our Commitment

We recognize the challenges posed by the cyber attack and are committed to supporting you through these times. We encourage you to take advantage of the Temporary Funding Program if eligible, and stay connected through the provided update page for the latest information. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we will navigate through these challenges and continue to provide the quality services our customers rely on.
